My precious just got this......72000km on the clock and it whines and is heavy on the steering.
She's a 07. Is this covered by warrenty? FL2, TD4 HSE

Very useful post. Had this done under warranty AND steering rack fitted solving the problem of 'pulling to the left' or better described as 'resisting to the right'. Arms were tired and weary with this problem but better now!

well that's a start. Do you know the total cost of the repair? I have a good insurance that also covers engine and other expensive repairs so I have to see the cost between the two. FL2, TD4 HSE

Others have reported in excess of £800 for the rack, pump, reservoir etc.

I would ask them to try the reservoir and fluid flush/change first to try to keep the cost down - unless the pump and rack are obviously knackered. My pump and rack are OK after about 8k miles but I spotted it early and only ran a few miles before fixing it.

LR initially offered me 60% towards the £900 cost. Dealer worked on them and they agreed to cover the full cost - at the time car was 3 months out of warranty.

Mine had done over 30000 when I had it changed, cured the problem. I used another branch of Marshalls who worked some sort of magic on LR to get them to cover the full cost. That is why I still use them even though there are closer LR Dealers in Northampton, Peterborough, Melton Mowbray and Leicester.

Just changed my reservoir and flushed system. Still whinEing like a goodern! I did not expect it to cure it as its been doing it for ages!

I think I am gonna see about a part ex next week! Fed up with it now

L/R often will give a contribution towards fixing it. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
