Rear window 'Spray'

Is it just me or does the LR2 seem to be bad for spray on the rear screen? Even when wiper is on it becomes unclear between sweeps compred to other cars I have had. eg. Honda CRV,Freelander 1,Disco,Crusier and other hatchbacks.

I have the LR roofrack/rails fitted, is this potential cause or are all LR2's blighted with this airflow issue?

I have not got mud flaps on the car as I think the cost for LR's are bloody stupid, but I'm thinking I may have to change my mind!

Is a rear spoiler a better way to change the airflow accros rear window?

Anybody not got this problem, is it just the rain on the M5 and ijn the SouthWest that causes this?

PS No problem with spray issue in the sun, so the solution maybe not go out in the rain.

Hi,

I don't have any problems with the front, but like you the rear of the car is blighted with spray.

I would be interested to hear how well mud flaps operate.

I too am a user of the glorious M5, having driven into Exeter this morning (fri 11th) with Mud Flaps, Side Steps, Clear indicators, LED's in the boot I can sadly say nothing prevents spray from spoiling my view of all those envious people I overtake!

Perhaps a Caravan would help Laughing

Answer is to keep wiping your rear end at regular intervals

See you on the M5! Thumbs Up

Yes by slowing all traffic down to a speed that doesn't cause spray Laughing

The rear spoiler doesn't help either... Out with the old (2007 SE)
In with the new (2012 Dynamic with everything). Now also gone.

If you can't keep the spray actually off how about applying Aquapel or that stuff they put on ferry windows to keep them clean?

It would help I guess...maybe... '57 GS TD4 in Stornoway. Privacy, Leather, Tred Cills. From ebay etc.. 18" 12 spoke HSE alloys, rear spoiler, clear side repeaters with clear leds, led interior light to replace bulbs, sports exhaust trim, TomTom 720.
