Auto lights not going off

We all know by now that the auto light sensor brings the lights on early and slow to go off but I seem to be driving all morning with mine on after early morning start. Then in the afternoon, they came on under a railway bridge but then stayed on.
Mine are behaving as if it is a latching relay? Once on stays on; resets when ignition turned off.
Returning home in the light, I got my Maglite out of the glovebox and put it right on the sensor but the headlights did not go out.

Am I alone? Is this a trip to the dealer? Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red

Mine exhibit the same symptoms, stay on when the sun is low but bright.
The sensor may be receptive to certain wavelengths, ie not artificial lights, bright street lighting would have the lights going out.

Sensor turns lights on/off with LED torch pressed up to the sensor so it's all working OK but the light level to turn OFF is a bit high. Again this week I seem to be driving with ights on all the time but, with a grey car, that may not be a bad idea in place of DRLs!!! Laughing Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red
