We work with a variety of dealers, and we have picked a couple who are nice/professional to deal with, and also follow through on every promise and are up front and honest from the outset (not something all dealers are..).

We normally get straight 4-5% discount off all new cars ordered through them, and they deliver anywhere in the country. Your LR is covered under the same warranty where ever you buy it from in the UK, just have to make sure the place where you take it for service/warranty work is to your liking and is relatively local. It hardly makes any difference nowadays if you bought the car from them or not. Sales don't like to get involved in after sales where possible, apart from maybe saying hello when they see you in reception and seeing how its going for you..

Never bought a FL2 or enquired yet, but can find out if this discount, mats and fuel are available on FL2 orders as well, if anyone is interested?

UK Dealer, delivered nationwide.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Stornoway Grey

I collected my LR2 Wednesday, free mats and tank full of diesel, gift in the post to follow!!! Very Happy
Very impressed with the car hand over, no rush, loads of paperwork, went through all the controls, about 1hour 30mins
If you do get discount will you get the care? (you will be very lucky to get discount in the UK)
One other point they have to make money on the FL2 as they had to chop the prices on the old FL1, I am happy Very Happy

Had a very quick test drive yesterday - wasn't disappointed at all !!

Has anyone had any luck on negotiating any discounts (or free extras, such as mats or a full size spare) yet ? I recall seeing a post saying Autobytel were offering a discount, but I can't see this on their site.

Thanks

BG

I think dealers have previously put out some very 'robust' comments about not discounting, which I suppose is understandable, new model and all that!. However, judging by the number of cars stacking up at the dealers now (I travel a lot and pass several dealers on my travels), and the fact that I still haven't seen another one on the road; then I'm sure that dealers are now more likely to talk discounts than before.

I agree. I have seen very few on the road. My dealer claims that the new registration plate on 1st March will be important for sales. I hope he's right because LR has produced a very good car.

I promised dealer not to let on their names but managed to get 6.5% discount off a new FL2 2.2D HSE. Do not ask over the phone. You need to be ready to purchase and then go into your choosen dealer and negotiate there and then for what you want to get (be realistic) because they are more than likely ready to deal something if you purchase there and then. be prepared to walk out if you do not get any discount.

Sounds like a good level of discount!

Did you have to go with their finance to secure this one ?

I really pushed hard for some discount when I ordered, but there was no movement at all - perhaps the extra month has changed the regime slightly ? Is your dealer part of a big group ?

Yes they are a part of a big group which owns other makes but still act independently. I promised that I would look at their finance but unless it was the best solution for my requirments then I would go elsewhere.

I think that the dealers are now ready for a deal as I to have a FL2 HSE on order with privacy glass, bodyside mouldings and of course met paint and mud flaps for £28900 picking up 1st march. Mr. Green

Rubber strips that run along the doors (middle of the panel) to stop door dents from other cars when in tesco etc!! they are I think £100 fitted in the price list.
