Not every Freelander has/had the locking cap

can you do photo(s) of the hinge side of the hole - I think that the locking pin is on the hinge part of the door.

I know common sense would say put the lock at the opening end - but then you bought a LR Very Happy 2002 Honda VFR800

Item 27936 is the assembly, includes solenoid, does not include flap Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Is the picture taken when the car is locked ? The flat section has a hole in it and this is where the white locking pin raises up from...I'll get a picture standby.....

4por4 - Car unlocked, opened the filler cap and then car locked again - see the white pin Thumbs Up

straighten that diesel cap immediately Evil or Very Mad , regulation 34568b clearly states all diesel caps should lie horizontal at all times.


Avtur (ex forum member) would have a panic attack seeing that sloppy capmanship.

Edit: When unlocked (pin retracted) you can still just see the top of the locking pin, and so I'm sure 4por4 hasn't got a filler cap lock.

Heavens above ... standards have dropped since I moved on, who on earth said that there would be a tolerance ... +/- 3 ..how sloppy is that ... PRECISION ... we need PRECISION !!!! Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

Either that or the solenoid has fallen off, this allows the white plastic pin to end up wher all the odd socks go in the washing machine. solenoid on mine was hiding between the wing and liner. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I would agree that there is probably a problem with it rather than not being fitted.

Would there be an easy way to visibly see the internal area where the solenoid and locking mechanism would normally sit?
