For those of us that don't have the heated front screen, there is always the option of the 12v hair dryer used in the comfort of the front seat. Idea

Laughing I cannot think of a worthy reply to that.

Doesn't the HSE have heated washer jets with a winter pack? I'm sure mine does. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Wash fluid heaters

Worked in wash/wipe industry for many years.. several manufacturers have tried to heat wash fluid both in tank (immersion type heater) and in line using wrapped heaters etc etc...I have pages and pages of research work in a filing cabinet which shows that it does not work...even heated jets are of marginal performance...the only way to stop freezing in extreme conditions is to use neat wash fluid...

Does anyone know when the heated nozzle jets come on with the winter pack? Doesn't seem to be anything in the handbook about this.

DR

mines MY201 with winter pack - heated seats, screen and nozzles... There's always a way forward!

And while I'm at it what about the door mirrors? There's always a way forward!

I think the heated washer jets are on whenever the engine is running. The mirror heaters work when you switch the heated rear screen on. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Yes, agree, but why don't use both?
Neat heated (winter) fluid in order to properly wash out any piece of dirt...

Undiluted "Winter" screen wash (guaranteed to minus 20°C) as sold here in CH, plus the FL2's heated washer nozzles have never let us down, and, her Ladyship's FL2 lives outside all the time. Last night it was minus 23°C and we were off at 06:30 this morning - washer jets worked fine. Down in the valley it was positively Mediterranean at only minus 11°C.

Not sure if its right to resurrect this old thread, but guess its better than starting a new one!

The heat shot guys were at top gear live this weekend, was very impressed with the design and quality of the product so went ahead and bought one.

Fitting should be easy enough will post up some pics and a guide... Then my results...

Jon,

Will be interested to see how you get on.

I found the install really easy on my FL1 and despite what all those who haven't got one think, they work really well!

I haven't revisisted it for a while but I couldn't find anywhere easy or obvious to mount it on the FL2.

Out of interest, what did they charge?

Simon
