Land Rovers fabled reliability takes another hit

After its first full year and 12,500 miles my FL2 had has its first warranty repair during its first service. A loose wire in the front curtsey light meant that I have having to use a complicated workaround involving lifting my arm and extending a digit to press the map light button when I needed some illumination. This was causing undue fatigue in the left arm area and was causing me grave concerns on the overall reliability of the car. The dealer has only now managed to effect the repair after 1 attempt and this does not fill me with much confidence that they could possibly tackle a less major problem without repeated visits. How on earth am I to take advantage of the copious quantities of free coffee in their service reception if they keep doing things like that. What is even more annoying is the car came back from the dealer cleaned inside and out, this will mean that I will now have to find some suitable mud and grime to get it back to that don't park to close to me look required for the local supermarket car park. Landrover main dealers you really need to pick your game up, collecting the car at 11.00 and returning it at 15.00 to do all this work is just not good enough. Should I get rid of this obvious lemon car having had this major issue or should I just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Now putting my sensible head on, well done Landrover for actually making a very reliable vehicle and to the main dealer for providing good quick service. I know this may not be everyone's experience and hasn't been mine always in the past but it is worth giving credit where credits due. This is the 3rd Landrover (FL1, D3, FL2) in a row and each was more reliable than the previous one and the first one wasnt that bad to start with.

Good news, downsized! Makes a change from all the breakages/failures we do hear about! Maybe a mention in "dealer feedback" is merited too? 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Nice to see some positive comments...on my third Fl2 no issues no probs just fine motors...and all my motors are worked hard..I did venture into Kuga land before I bought my current FL2...wow reading some of the posts some of you think you get a raw deal from Landrover dealers and customer services.....

"Now wasn't it worth all that heart ache and hastle "
Not 3.3 years worth !
The interesting part is that all the quirks they supposed to have according to a dealer don't have to be there & I have proved it ! so they don't " all do that sir ! "
I just quickly ran outside to the Garage & hit the start button as it hasnt been out for two weeks & all still hunky dorey Thumbs Up
So there we go I have said something positive Very Happy
