Parking Sensor fault

I've seen a couple of threads that mention failed parking sensors. Mine seem to be playing up a bit. Occasionally there is a constant beep even though I'm not near to anything. I have to manually switch them off. Then a little while later they are ok. I've even tried cleaning them (as a last resort!)

What have others experienced?

i have had exactly the same on my front sensors

The dealer wouldn't do anything until my 'fault' did it for them Shocked

I found it was after the car had been stood in the rain for a period of time, and after it had stopped raining for a period, until the sensors dried out.

When it happen at the dealers they had a device to check the sensors are working and it wasn't, when they removed the front bumber they found the sensor to have 'green' build up due to water ingress. They replaced the sensor and things have been fine.

Until the other week when my rear bumper sensor started doing the same Sad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

has anybody traced where the sound comes from?

I was thinking if they was separate speakers they could be replaced for louder ones.

I also laugh when the cars alarm is set off (by me), its like they don't want to break any environmental noise pollution laws or wake anybody up just in case they are sued.

The horn sounding is louder Shocked when your trying to lock the car with a door open at 2am Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Is it possible to get the updated software model/version number Question from your dealer

my dealers stated that there is nothing that they can do, but mine was one of the first released, so things might have changed Crying or Very sad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Is it front and back on yours, or just one that is quiet.

Mine has really loud at front, hurts your ears type loud. Whereas the back, you have to be quiet to hear.

I thought that maybe it would be because you'd know you were reversing, although I'd prefer to have loud rear, and quiet front, as you are a lot more likely to miss something at the back

How strange.

So was I lucky that one of mine is loud, or unlucky that one of mine is quiet? Sorry, it's been a long day

I have today received my car back from the dealers, it was in for the sunroof again, but they aren't doing anymore fixes till a man from LR comes and shows them how to do the recall fix.

anyway........ I had them look at the reoccurring sensor failure where the sensor beeps when it's gotten wet for no reason as i am not near anything Neutral

Well...... I got my car back today and the sensors are working fine Smile

But...... They now sound 10x louder Very Happy

There must be something like a new update as i have asked them to look into the loudness of the sensors beeps (especially the rear ones) as you can hardly hear them when the blowers on full

I can now Very Happy Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
