Any one know what the headphone sockets and buttons are for in the centre console in front of the rear seats ?

To listen to the radio, cd with headphones, and other buttons are volume and mode buttons

When you said 'Rear seat entertainment' I thought you meant a completely different sort!  Cheers,

yes,ur rear passagers can listen to radio,when u listen to cd,and vise versa,providing the plug the earphones in,.....my kids loved this on my old gs my10,.....but dont have it on my new my11gs  Current: Freelander 2 GS, Orkney Grey, Factory fit privacy glass, design pack and Clearview pack. Almond Leather ,rear spoiler,rear mudflaps.my13.

I think they discontinued the rear entertainment on MY10

I had this on my 57 SE, dealer said deleted as little used when I bought a MY10 HSE, presumably to save a few quid. Seems a retrograde step when infotainment is the new black/white or rather red...... JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

Of course if you happen to have a Freelander 2 without, electrical, clutch, locking, battery problems you could find it actually entertaining being in the front seat.
