My understanding is that 2010 LR2s have built-in homelink where as 2008 & 2009s do not. Where is the homelink located on a 2010? Is it on the sunvisor? Is it possible to retrofit?

my understanding is its built into the rear view mirror with the buttons just been visible, so i'm thinking its a replacement mirror, so most likley able to retro fit. Its also not standard fit, but an option

I have an 08 HSE that did not come with homelink. I would like to find out if its just a simple replacement of the rear view mirror. Cuatro Por Cuatro

i have a 2011 spk xs model it does not have homelink fitted as standard it may be the case that if the normal mirrors have run out on the production line that these have been fitted instead  rainy-city

Am also interested in HomeLink - spoke to the parts dept and they said that unless specified at new any vehicle will lack the necessary accessory 'kit' (wiring and electronics), so it sounds like it's not a plug and play mirror replacement. Pity, as we now have remote controlled gate and garage and would be nice not to have to faff around for the controllers.

Does anyone know of any third party systems that can be fitted somewhere around the dash?

I too have searched high and low to find out if it is just a case of buying a replacement mirror with the Homelink buttons etc. Nobody seems to know!?
Someone in another thread said he merely stuck his existing fob/opener onto his sun screen

a good auto electrician would be able to re wire your fob so its hidden under the dash and fit two discreet buttons in a convenient place

cheaper than LR home link and neater than a fob jammed in the visor.

Ive never seen/heard off such a thing but its simple electrics not rocket science, he could possibly wire the fob up to the cars electrics also to eliminate battery changing At work
