Water on windsceen

Just bought myself a Freelander, each time I drive through a large (unavoidable) puddle at the side of the road the windscreen is totally engulfed in water, to the point of obscuring vision completely. Is this a common problem, can anything be done to prevent this.

Apart from that I like................

Some say the front 'bib' spoilers help to stop this, I'm not convinced though but for something like a 'tenner' it's no loss if it doesn't work.

EDIT: same thing posted same time

I fitted a pair of Bib Spoilers a few months ago and while they don't eliminate the problem entirely I do think they have reduced it significantly and the last few weeks in the West of Scotland have certainly given plenty of opportunity for comparison. As EYorkshire says for the limited cost it is probably worth a try, of course you could always slow down when you see a puddle although that is obviously not as much fun.

Agreed As0001. There is usually a lot of water all over the screen and I have now started putting the wipers on turbo mode just prior to hitting the puddle.

Not sure if these 'puddles' would be classed as unavoidable, perhaps more actively sought out Whistle Laughing

(I purposely re-post some early videos including the 'yeah baby' specials in eager anticipation of some derogatory comments Laughing ) - P.S, the entry speed on the last video was nowhere near as fast as it looks on the old pixelated Sony mobile.

splash variations

My latest Freelander (11my) with the small spats at the front is better at deflecting splashes than both my previous ones, but there again I usually try to completely empty any puddles into the adjacent fields at the first pass through!!!!! Sheep Sheep

If there are lots of puddles I try to flick the wipers on just before the puddle, this saves having to wonder if it was a mini after the puddle, or just another rough bit of tarmac. Thumbs Up

Just fitted the smaller, later ones (great service again from Duckworths) and so far they seem to be making a difference - or maybe I'm just running out of puddles to empty round these parts Laughing

Literally a 10 minute fit and under a tenner Thumbs Up Cheers,

Never had a pre face lift so I would not know how much water reaches the screen, but I do know on our new fl2 even with spats on my wife can still get the water on the windscreen ,
