My Holiday in the freelander 2

Happy new year everyone.
Picked up the car day before we went.
Like to share my experiences Laughing
Great on fuel and plenty of power on the highway(still not been to the garage yet it to fill up since my return)
Terrain response works excellent, Thumbs Up (nissans one must be a cheap imitation copy)
Felt secure on gravel, felt safe to drive fast.
Mud and ruts gave me total control combined with the torque of the diesel to drive at low revs and be picky/fussy where i placed my tyres to avoid water filled ruts of unknown depths and keeping clean, to avoid possible underbody scrapes. Whistle
Noticed the difference on a mixture of tracks and dialed in the response appropriate.
Got caught out when conditions changed suddenly and hit a water filled rut that spashed everywhere, thank goodness for the long travel suspension.
Xenon headlamps instantly picked up a Kangaroo jumping out across the rd about 6m in front, eased the brakes on and he was gone, also saw a Koala at the side of the rd too.
Overall my Freelander is a well build quality car that am in luv with.
Whistler white Freelander TD4 HSE with sunroof.
my apology for no photos yet... Big Cry

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Caspian Blue

Great to hear of your adventures.

A few years ago I got lost driving around the Hunter Valley. Fortunately it was dry so the hired Holden coped with the red dust roads. I can imagine how great the FR2 would be out there.

Look forward to some pictures of a Whistler White.
We have snow forecast in the uk for tomorrow. I won't see any as I'm in the west. The Whistler in the snow would look great. Thumbs Up TD4 HSE Auto Caspian Blue

Nice to hear from you Charlie.
Hope you had plenty of petrol losing your way around the hunter valley,
we stayed up near Pt Macquarie, drove around Diamond Head National pk which is pretty flat near the ocean and Camden Haven river. Also in Queens lake state forest where the conditions changed alot.
There has been plenty of rain too, inland had floods in some places.
Hope its not all that cold with the snow forecast,Whistler white suits me,this new Alaska white is whiter still,If i had the choice now between the two it would be the whistler, glad it was the only one avaliable at the time as i might have got the Alaska
