sorry if this has been done before,I have had problems with sat nav not recalculating,I cleaned the disc but still had a scratch on it,I borrowed another and that was ok the main dealers would only replace like for like i.e 2008 disc.Have now bought new 2012 disc and loaded but what exactly are the updates that you have to wait for as it loads does it not just read the disc

Hi Archie, I have a Garmin in my cubby hole so this will be a guess. The loading I would imagine would be for the Operating System updates and running, maybe even the main mapping and this will be held in flash memory for speed. The routing and POI's will be held on the DVD and accessed when necessary.
