Stratstone Land Rover - Pickering/Sean Cooper

Don't bother this guy with an email price enquiry cos this is the reply I got:

Thanks for the enquiry, but as a professional motor dealer we don't enter
dutch auctions. We provide a professional service while supplying prestige
vehicles to our customers. We do not do business by being the cheapest. I am
sure you will be able to find someone cheaper than ourselves, perhaps you
would be able to find a car supermarket that can supply cheap parallel
imports. The vehicle specification you require would mean a factory order
and would therefore take us around three months to supply.

I can't understand their atitude (car salesmen that is) Mind you our forum sponsor seem a nice guy. Embarassed
As a builder a am expected to provide free of charge, estimates for various building works, these can sometimes take several hours to prepare.
I am also aware that I am having to compete with other builders but welcome the chance to do so.
Do I ever complain. well yes sometimes but never in front of the customer, and I always show an interest.
I am not always the cheapest but often this does not matter as I still get the contract.
Atitude at the end of the day.
Perhaps that is why I don't need to advertise for work and have enough work on my books to keep us busy till August. And still pricing.

Indeed

Indeed .... as you say Builder ... in the end it all comes down to attitude. I've been using an excellent dealership for over a decade, but the sales guy assigned to me just Censored me off with his approach, attitude and comments. So I went to another dealership, where the sales guy was interested, listened, and responded helpfully when asked ....... that's all I wanted ... he got the sale! Thumbs Up  Life is not a dress rehearsal!

Previous experience has caused me to avoid ANY Stratstone dealership like the plague. I hada real issue with my local Volvo outfit, they left horrible oily marks on the interior trim and also an oily plastic bag containing the left over engine oil on the front passenger seat after a service. They also tried to persuade me that trading my 18 month old car in for a new identical one and payments oer £100 per month higher was a good deal. It gave me great pleasure when they rang me to suggest that my car was due for renewal at 3 years to tell them I had already changed. The big problem was that all the local Volvo dealerships were Stratstone operated. D3 GS Java Black TDV6 Manual

Got a 10% discount off a Stratstone dealer in a dutch auction.

They were very helpful. '57 GS TD4 in Stornoway. Privacy, Leather, Tred Cills. From ebay etc.. 18" 12 spoke HSE alloys, rear spoiler, clear side repeaters with clear leds, led interior light to replace bulbs, sports exhaust trim, TomTom 720.

I think what is important here as with all dealerships whatever your requirements is that sometimes it is just the attitude of one or two employees that can spoil the whole image of the group but will ultimately put you (the customer) off that dealership/group for life, and take your business elsewhere. There are after all around 250 other dealerships to choose from some keener than others for new business.

Hunters Bristol terrible - they even have 0870 numbers to contact them. Got mine from Stratstone in Cheltenham - got a good deal and have had good service from them since.
