United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Zermatt Silver
I've just got to say.....

Last night I got home (via the snow in Queensbury) in my company rep-mobile by the skin of my teeth ! and abandonded it the end of the bridleway we live on, then " commandered " the Freely !

1) i just love the car , the driving postion, the autobox and the terrain response system - mega !
2) I've been blatting about in the car all day today and the new Pirelli Scorpion ATR have less road noise than the Pirelli Scorpion Zero on the MY11 HSE I drove at Coniston Cold LRE a couple of weeks back, plus they rip through every thing i've come across
3) I'm thinking of coming out of the company car scheme next time round to buy a Freely of my own Very Happy
they are an awesome all round motor, road mud , snow, plus a piece of Censored to drive with the autobox! and i've just brought home a bloody great chest of drawers in the boot Exclamation , I'm a convert, In real terms this car is 100% better than the Defender it replaced Bow down

The only down sides: a)for a country orientated car why isn't there enough room for a shotgun in it's case ( 30"bbl)to lay across the boot ? b) the car is too fast for it's headlights...... 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Fuji White

Having spent weeks of last winter completely unable to drive my 400bhp Lexus (rear wheel drive) I am now actually looking forward to the snow which is promised Evil or Very Mad

The lights issue is easily solved with an upgrade to a better bulb like the Osram Night Breaker Plus.
The shotgun issue has got me foxed though .... unless you are into sawn-offs of course Laughing Cheers,
Raz

I have a all round liner in the boot. This helps to keep things clean, or restrict the muck spreading from wife's gundogs! It does however make the boot dimensions a little smaller, such that a 28" o/u will not go in any way but diagonally. A 30" would have to be jacked up on the wheel arch, i should think.

Yes you are right, I've got the liner too, I'm going to start breaking the guns down and putting them in the travel cases I think. It might even prompt me to change the chokes from time to time Laughing 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Yep a 30" is a struggle to fit in, especially when you have 3 in

I breakdown when going anywhere far now, that way I can lock it up too
