United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

Just taken mine in for it's 2nd servicetoday, got the Mondeo diesel auto, have to say the powershift gearbox is no better/worse than the conventional auto in the FL, however considering ther engine in basically the same is seems more refined and quieter, the seats are more comfortable and the audio/climate controls are more modern.

I have found the Derby, Pride Park branch of Enterprise, to be extremely helpful, and not at all dodgy over damage checks on handover. I have used them twice when my 08 has been to Hunters. First time, they apologised for having no Rover in stock, and asked would a Nissan Pathfinder do? I was happy with that for a couple of days.
Second time, I was going to get a Meriva, this didn't bother me, but before doing the paperwork, a SD4 was returned, so they gave it a quick wash and sent me out with it. I always keep in mind, the words of my late Uncle Spud, "a second class ride is better than a first class walk"! If they keep me mobile, I don't fuss what it's with.

When serviced at Lance Dixon, in Melbourne, you get the lowest spec Camry courtesy car, yay!
Except my service required 4 days, so I got to drive this brillant car for 4 long days....

Don't expect anything, that way you won't be disappointed.
They arranged a courtesy car, one was provided, you signed up to the small print.

Got a brand new Jaguar XJ, very nice, much better than a Freelander which is very rough in comparison

Mines waiting for the insurance to cough up for thr repairs - ended up with a Honda Accord

Mirrors the size of postage stamps, no rear wiper Censored , Manual, traction control is useless, doesn't like kerbs, hate speed ramps even more Whistle , sitting on the floor with poxy visibility, radio is poor, boot is tiny, gearbox either jumps out of gear or grinds on the way in. Great on fuel as I keep asking her indoors to drive in her Micra.

Now I remember why i bought the first Freelander. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

The dealer supplied me with a fully kitted out Lara Croft series 3 Defender (with Tomb Raider stickers) as that's all they had.
The kids in the street loved it but the wife hated it as she was the one driving it.

Cool! Cool Laughing

My TD4 (March 11, 9000 miles) died this week with amber light and reduced performance. LR Assistance guy said software update needed, but after an hour or so he couldn't do it so asked me to take it to the dealership.

However, LR Assistance have arranged for Enterprise to give me a free rental car. It's only a RR VogueSE, £80K worth of electronics on wheels, and seemingly almost as economical as my FL2 (how do they do that?). So, I'm quite happy for the dealer to take their time...
