Sunroof Controls Not Working

I went to open my sunroof the other day and the controls don't seem to be working as expected. I have to hold the "sunroof open" button continuously to fully open the sunroof. I thought there was an auto open (similar to the side windows) functionality. I could put up with that behaviour, but the auto close functionality isn't working (there's gotta be auto-close functionality). When I close the sunroof, I have to hold the "sunroof close" button until the exact moment the sun roof is closed. If I don't do that, the sun roof opens at the back. It's very tricky to close it exactly right. Does anybody else have this problem? Are there any easy solutions or do I have to head back to dealer?

Haven't had a similar problem but as i was checking the manual for a problem about the auto(open-close) of windows a couple of pages furtherer i came across the sunroof section. If i recall well it's says to hold the open button for 18 seconds or so etc. I would advise you to read the manual cause that my solve your prob!

I finally got LR to look at this. The tech couldn't solve the problem. They've ordered a new control mechanism (motor and all). Hopefully that solves things.

I found SkyDive's tip in the manual. It was a good suggestion but no luck. Thanks anyway.

After the softwear update i did on my fl2 my sunroof as well stopped working...
So i guess (hope) it's just a softwear bug.
Will go next week to my LR service to check it out and i'll keep you posted.
Did your tech hook up the car to the pc to see if it was a soft. prob?

SkyDive, do you mean your sunroof controls stopped working after you did the "hold for 18 seconds" tip that's in the manual? That would be something to note if performing this procedure actually causes a problem that costs LR a bundle to fix.

I don't know what the tech did. They just said they ran tests and couldn't find the problem. Let me know if your tech is able to fix it and, if so, how he did it.

Thanks

No, my controls stopped working after i did a software upgrade on the car at the LR service.
I did try the tip sugested in the manual but still no luck.
Im guessing it is a software broblem beacause if something goes wrong with the softwear update the car may not even start due to a false reading that prevents it's from starting after a severe car crash.(Happend to me when i did the soft update)
I will keep you posted!
