You would not hold your breath on how many people say "but the tyres are legal so I can't understand why they don't grip" Andy.

2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

Some good news this morning,
spoke to my insurance company to advise that I now have winter tyres fitted and XS model alloy wheels & hey presto ! no problem and no charge. Took the name of the guy i spoke to though and his department.

Bring on the snow, lets see it earn its keep !
