United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

Still waiting for the Mrs to return home as road is now blocked at its a huge detour around it (she is sat in my sisters house). She has been driving our A3 sport for her 35 mile each way commute on the A1 for the last three years and I have always considered the extra handling and braking of a sporty car to be vastly safer than a 4X4, as avoiding an accident is better than riding high during one. But soon she will be on maternity leave and no long trogging up and down the A1 so the high speed accident scenario has lessened and the freelander will be safer.

sorry but i get worried about stuff like this.

Sorry to hear your bad news NPINKS, if only they would use their brains to help others rather than cause distress. Worth checking, if you can see valuable items through your letterbox a thief can and they can use a fishing rod to hook items! CHECK NOW
Good luck for 2008 David

Cheers DL

What really gets me is it the 1st or 2nd time that i have every left the keys on the stairs, and I the Censored see them.

Think its a trip to B&Q to buy a garage alarm Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Did the wife make it home last night CG? or was it a lonely night infront of the rather Censored christmas TV. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Sorry to hear that Npinks Evil or Very Mad

It just shows that theiving B Censored ds are are also working around Christmas Exclamation

It really miffs me when Censored like this think they have the right to funk up other peoples lifes....go out and get a real job you fecking losers Exclamation I also hate not having presents arrive on time to give to people on Christmas day, so that would have irritated me even more....especially when you put a lot of effort in to a surprise.

An important point there is not to leave any of your keys near the front door, and in fact safest bet is to remove any table that you have just inside the front door completely away, to avoid you throwing your keys on it. Or alternatively seal your letter box up and put an external mail box outside on the wall.

Have a good new year everyone Thumbs Up

The road remained blocked for some time I think it was serious, So I got in my truck and drove across a few fields to a foot bridge that leads to our village,(the route I use to reach the pub without drink driving). So the Mrs was rescued and I walked for her car this morning (right underneath the out of tune churchbells to really punish me for my hangover) . The trouble is if the road to the road bridge over the river is blocked its miles and miles up or down stream to the next one.

So wife rescued and well enough to go cot and other baby stuff shopping today (maybe I should have left her !)

I'm sure i once heard on POLICE CAMERA ACTION, you can get done for Drink Driving even on private roads, not sure about fields though. Something about drunk in charge of a motor vehicle instead of driving Question

At least she's safe and your skint, not cheap those baby cots and stuff Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Private roads in that case probably means ones still used by the public but not adopted by the council. My road is a grasstrack. I would have to be careful if I drove along or crossed a public footpath or bridalpath. Saying that if i managed to prang into a tree etc my insurance wouldnt want to pay if they knewI was on the way home from the pub Embarassed Its not a good time of year to be driving down my track anyway as its wet and the little track gets rutted and ruined.
Part of the track is uphill with a grass side-slope and if its wet getting the pickup (road tyres) home is a good sobriety test as you can side slip off the track into soft mud. I,ve only slipped off the track once (during a thunderstorm) and had to get a tractor tow in the morning!
