Scotland 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Narvik Black
This weeks top tip!

How to lock yourself out of your FL2 with the engine still running........

(1) Make your monthly trip to your local recycling centre and empty all your glass, plastic and paper in the respective containers ready to be recylced.

(2) Don't forget to dispose of the (6 foot long x 6 inch wide) cardboard box that you placed between the drivers/passengers seat because you are too lazy to take the dog guard out.

(3) Remember to stop the car alongside the appropriate skip, leaving the engine running because you are also too lazy to switch it off, whilst you walk around the rear of the car to open the rear passenger door.

(4) Remove the box by some careful wiggling/manouvering back and forth because you are not only lazy, you are also impatient. Make sure that the end of the box comes into contact with the central locking button on the dash, which you can't hear deadlocking the doors because as well as being lazy and impatient, you are also stupid for not switching the radio off.

(5) Throw the box into the skip with a satisfied flourish, turn around and close the rear passengers door and return to the car to drive off.

(6) Express a puzzled look as you realise you cannot open the drivers door and continue to be further confused as you realsie that all the doors are somehow locked with the keys in the ignition and your engine running.

(7) Ignore the other members of the public watching you.

(8 ) Acknowledge your one stroke of luck by taking your mobile from your pocket and phone your wife, but not before you have walked a sufficent distance away from the car to break the bluetooth connection to the car. Ask her to travel the three miles to bring you the spare key to rescue the situation.

(9) Complete the "manual" unlocking of your car, via the passengers door.

(10) Drive away barely managing to conceal your embarassment with your wife's ringing endorsement that you are a complete and utter plonker.

Very Happy

I just started recycling, but half the stuff we cant put in the bins and our recycling center has horrendous queues !
I have also just had our water bill in and me thinks rinsing everything first, has shot our water bill up so putting a stop to that, since another £12.00 a month for water is a bit steep ! just to keep statistics nice and sweet with recycling.
Happy days

Excellent, there but for the grace of God etc, all this recycling is a load of garbage anyway, just dig a hole in the garden and bury it.
The thing that pees me off it that it has to be done on their terms, washing cans, no envelopes with windows etc. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

English by birth..... Yorkshire by the grace of God.

Now what would have done if you had left your phone in your car? I dont have a clue what my partners mobile number is so even asking a passer by if i could use their phone would be no help!

Now there's a question:

If you got out of your FL2 with the engine running (say to post a letter) but forgot to put the handbrake on. If it started to roll down the road - when it reached the required speed would it lock the doors (as usual) thereby stopping you from jumping in and recovering it.

Or even getting in when it came to rest - perhaps against a usefully placed wall (or caravan for CG)
