I've just had a run up to Lancashire (from Hampshire) and achieved 42.5 mpg doing 68-70 on the motorway. I didn't use cruise control (not very M6 friendly!), which can normally be quite relaxing but does tend to put the clog down on steep inclines. I now find I can use 6th gear much more for cruising, which I rarely did in my last diesel as it was more fuel efficient at 2500 rpm rather than 2000 rpm under load. Also, I have only really noticed this increase in mpg since changing to exclusively Shell V Power diesel for about the last 6k miles. Urban runs return 35-37.5 mpg. |

Welcome along, hope your mpg is gonna be better than mine, our gs td4 manual is only doing 30.9 does about 75 miles a week with my wife driving very short trips round local villages , still very new only done 1300 miles it's 2 months old on Thursday, but we love it. Btw like your colour, and I had plenty of stick for having a white one but I got through it, theres a good bunch on here and I've had a few chuckles reading the threads on here . |

At 1300 miles your engine will still be bedding in. Realistically you won't see optimum fuel consumption until you've done at least 5000 miles if not 10000. My TD4 150 bhp manual is currently on 11000 miles and giving an indicated 38 mpg over the last 1000 miles.
