I think I might have an oil leak, happened to notice dark spots on the floor where I park. So I checked the oil level and it was near the MIN marker on the dipstick, I've topped it up and its now back to MAX.

I've looked under the bonnet down on to the engine but couldn't see anything. I then looked from the floor up at underneath the car, the underbody protection is very oily on the passenger side of the car, near the wheel. For the life of me, can't see anywhere else that is oily / leaking. Looking at the drivers side underneath, there's one component that looks oily/greasy but nothing around it is, (was thinking if it is leaking it might drip and run down to the other side)

Last night I checked the level whilst everything was stone cold and it was still on MAX, and then parked differently so that I can monitor what's going on. This morning another small spot of oil was on the floor.

Done a search on here and other LR forums, seems like people have had issues with the seal of plastic pipes.

Any advice? Is there anything that's likely to be leaking?

Its due its 1st year service in 3weeks, 1 year from new and this will be the 3rd problem I've had

I had exactly the same problem recently, looked like an oily film all over the tray at the bottom of the engine on the passenger side and on the underside of the tray. Assumed oil leak. Dealer said it was a loose clip on the Turbo hose which for some reason was resulting in a very fine mist of oil being sprayed around the engine bay in this area. Hadn't noticed any major oil loss though. They tightened the 'clip' up and gave it back.

Had exactly the same "leak" wet on tray under engine on the passenger side, couple of oil spots on the driveway.
Whipped off the tray (Mantec sump guard), cleaned up oil and had a good look, couldn't find source.
Checked oil level - it was midway up the dipstick so I topped it up and checked it twice a day for the next week, it never moved.
Took her in for a service a couple of weeks later and mentioned the leak, when I picked her up the Martin at the service desk told me the technician had tightened up a clip, but he didn't know which one.
Hasn't leaked since.

Just put it down to a serious hammering off-road at Eastnor castle  Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Had another look lunch time, a fresh spot on the floor but its smaller the previous. Checked oil level and it hasn't moved, all other fluid levels are fine too and not moved.

Could just be a clip, will have a better look later on as i've got bit more time on my hands today.

Did you manage the leak ? seams to me that I have the same... please advice

Until then, if there is any oil drop formed on the underbody protection, you could touch it to see what kind of oil is: engine or transmission type. They have different feel and smell.

Exactly I did: removed the shield/protection; cleaned the engine at least there is no oil drops nor dust with oil (dirt grease); the protection is also clean, now will see what will happened... I suppose should clean little bit better charger pipes looks like it might leak too.

Next topic: how to distinguish between oils? ...will find, will taste...
