Our HSE purchased new came with standard 18" alloys for summer use and supplied also with 16" alloys with winter tyres which is normal here. However the spare is also a 17" steel rim with 235/65 R17 104V (with 50 mph sticker) & Wrangler tyre. So it would seem that the LR practice varies slightly when it comes to spare tyre size, but who cares anyway, it is as Dave mentioned, only a spare to get you home. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

My 1st Freelander had 235/65/17 Continentals as standard fit and came with a 235/65/17 Wrangler on a steel wheel as spare. Spare had a 50mph sticker.
