1st into 2nd gear is getting tougher

Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me - I've had my 2008 FL2 XS for a few weeks now and it had just been serviced when I bought.
I found the gearbox originally light as a feather, you could change gear with one finger. But know it's getting a little harder and especially 1st into 2nd and back again is harder than it was.
There's no problems with the mesh of the gears as far as I can make out and there are no noises that indicate a problem.

Should I be worried about it, or just tell my wife to quit her whinging! 2008 FL2 TD4 XS Zermatt Silver, Manual

I am sure this has been mentioned before, hit he search button and see what you find, but the linkage is cable operated and it tends to dry out at the gearbox end and needs a bit of lubrication. It is accessible from under the bonnet, get someone to sit in and move the stick about whilst you look, should be on the near side Thumbs Up

And if you do want to lubricate the linkages, DO NOT use WD40. This tends to swell plastics causing the linkages to become even stiffer. Use lithium spray (white) or PTFE spray.
