Finally fitted my RES and with Chris's very helpful guide, there was no fuss or drama. Only points to note, I had to use 7mm and 8mm sockets instead. I have to agree, its not worth the £1200 LR would charge for it. Plugging the audio into the car's AUX input is great idea as the rear audio panel can be used, or the car's speakers for full on surround sound-ish

I didn't fit additional inputs, just ran the inputs from the DVD player to the rear connector unit. I was planning on fitting extra inputs but time hasn't been on my side due to work comitments at the moment. |

Does anybody know where I can access a copy of the users manual for the rear scren entertainment system. I bought it from ebay but had someone fit it for me and the manual got lost...Alternatively, could some kind soul tell me if I can play DVDs through the system so my son can watch them in the back but have the sound coming through the main car speakers, or where would I plug in some stand alone portable speakers (he won't were the IR headphones!) Many thanks |

I fitted mine nearly 2 years ago, and did not install as per the Landrover instructions. I fitted the audio input module under the passenger seat, and not I. The Center console. This works, and looks better as you can leave your DVD / video player permanently connected under the seat, and no Nasty wires on show.. I also used standard phono splitters from marlin so have a DVD and portable video player connected. You could just as easily Add a dab tv . |

Wow, really good thread. We're literally about to go pick up our new (new to us) 57 plate HSE FL2 auto this afternoon.
