4th Event Ideas Thread

So with Toeknee head growing to the size of a weather balloon with the praise we are all giving in his direction in his direction for his excellent 3rd meet at Halewood.

I thought we should let him get back to normal job at ToeKnee Automotive Re-Design and Detailing.

So i thought we could use this thread as a ideas board for what could be done at the next meet, whether that's locations based Southern or Northern event it makes no difference, but obviously a crabbing on the Rocks at Lands End would not attract many members from up north, so think away and post up your ideas.

So far Lord CG has suggested another meet with tea and scones and another drive up a hill, maybe with kids and other halves been involved.

or what about something a little more out there, like white water rafting, orienteering. paint balling or quad biking etc

Have a think and post up your ideas, what ever they are, however insane they might be, you never know Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I wouldn't mind a go at the Segway off roading or the tarmac kart racing

A treasure type hunt., takes a couple or so hours to do with a meal after, wifes and kids could come too and make a day of it.

I did one quite a few years ago, you were given a list of things and a start point to drive from, and guides are not exactly straight forward, with directions like at a lampost on the left what is the how many claws does the house next door have (it had a griffin on the gates), in 1/4 mile on the right what is the name of the soldier (war mamorial) in 2 miles straight ahead theres is a turning to (a farms)?

Basically going along, picking up the clues, finding the answers, collecting objects and then handing them in at a pub were you have a meal and a chat and its marked and is against the clock

We won, got about quarter of the answers wrong, but we had the advantage of a sporty car, so what we lost in points were made up for in time taken points

Obviously the logistics of doing this, planning a route with the reinvent questions could be hard to do, unless they are on line to download or something Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I don't think any competative event is fair on any of us if Rooster EY is a participant, though Bell Ringing comes to mind Whistle

How about taking advantage of one of the corporate days offered by a Land Rover Experience Centre. The activities can be tailored to customer requirements and could include:

Off road driving in an LRE vehicle
Laser clay shooting
4x4 blindfold driving
Segways
Buggy driving
etc

I've attached a link to LRE East of England at Rockingham Castle, Near Corby in Northamptonshire which is pretty central.

LR Experience corporate days can work out quite expensive, managed to get some discount for the recent LR Halewood trip and that' was just the basic tour and demo drive with lunch, think you'll be looking at least a couple of Hundred pounds. Just look at the prices for half days adventure driving.

not knocking the idea, juts think cost has to be realistic, especially if other family members are coming along

I'll ask the guys at Rockingham for some idea of prices as I'm there tomorrow.

Also know there are lots of B&B establishments and a few pubs and hotels in the local area.
