trip to the dealer or a cheaper alternative is press the unlock button when you want a rear seat passenger to get out

though these are not child locks, they are safety locks, the child locks are key operated in the rear door edges and require opening from the outside when you stop Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Mine auto locks once I start driving off.
It's more a security thing more than anything.
If you have a crash then they should unlock.

Then you have a problem, as stated above the doors should only lock when you drive away, not when you start the engine. If you mis-worded it, then as npinks says, it's a dealer software change.
Normally a passenger in the rear would pull the short handle (to unlock) and then the longer one (to open) to get out or as said, let them out by using the unlock button on the dash.

i think the laptop software for these is very expensive,

there is the Blackbox solutions Faultmate MSV-2 which is €775 which you can use to read and clear faults and alter the cars setting to some degree

Why are you needing it to be unlocked? the car will be still able to be unlocked in the event of an accident

Anyway, welcome to the forum, i'm a Leeds member too Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
