Rear bumper replacement - advice please!

My car is in Nationwide's body shop to have a new rear bumper.(I reversed into a low wall!)
They rang tonight to say that the car will be in for another day because the bumper they have has the wrong size holes for the parking sensors!
Have they got the correct bumper? Has anyone heard a similar tale?
Grateful for advice.
Thanks All.

MMMM - just priced / ordered a shed load of parts from the local LR dealer, amongst them I was asking for the price of a bumper (£261) was told they don't come with holes and I would need a special tool to install them.

Is it possible the body shop has installed the wrong sized hole? Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Went tonight to collect the car and they've made a total bodge of the parking sensors with scuff marks all around them. I refused the car and they said that they would get rid of the marks! Don't know how - its in the plastic!
What is the tool that they should have used to make the holes? Does anyone know?

If your car does not have colour coded bumpers, then LR do not make a replacement bumper pre-cut for parking sensors. They have to be cut by hand using a special tool as supplied by a dealer. The brackets which then actually hold the sensors on the inside of the bumper then have to be cut off your old bumper and then plastic welded to the 'new' one. I know because I had the same issue a few months ago when needed new rear bumper. It was an LR approved bodyshop which told me this and I also confirmed with LR. I was not overly impressed and said to the LR 'customer service' rep that they should get me a nice new one off the production line which they obviously said no to. Only alternative is to have colour coded bumpers as they are precut. Having said that, the bodyshop did a fairly tidy job and you have to look closely to tell that it is not original.

Many thanks for that Mojo. I can only hope that they are doing the job properly.
