Have you used Rain X or other rain repellent? It has been known to reduce friction such that the wipers overrun as you describe! 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Good question but no I haven't. However, I do use a car wash shampoo which I suppose could leave a wax deposit. 2007 TD4 SE Manual

No they are genuine replacement LR wipers replaced earlier this year. In any case at the end of travel the wipers are more or less parallel with the bodywork. I will try cleaning the screen to ensure any wax residue is removed and wait for more rain. However it would be good to know if adjustment of the travel limits is possible. 2007 TD4 SE Manual

I can't see any adjustment from that, maybe the linkages are worn or the fastening bolts/nuts are loose.

Hmm, only thing I can think of now is what EYorkshire is saying, teeth and/or joints worn. I was just going for the cheapest option first. Ghyllie oo! Shiney! ____________________________________________ 55 Nissan Navara SE Black - My Toy. 08 Freelander 2 XS Santorini Black - Her Majesty's Toy. |

Thanks guys for your interest and for the exploded view of parts. I don't think wear is the problem. Thought perhaps there might be adjustable electrical limits built into the wiper motor mechanism. I think I need to check if there is still a problem with clean windscreen. Will update post in due course. 2007 TD4 SE Manual

have you put the wipers to the top of the screen stop them there and see if you have excessive play in the system by pulling both wiper blades away from the screen see how mutch play there is by gentley rocking the wiper arm near you hope this will helpyou out you can try this at various points on the screen rainy-city
