I'm guessing it will work with my 2010 freelander? any one know if the voice commands will work?

Seeing it uses the same Bluetooth as the 4, then I would say yes it will connect okay.
As to Voice commands - I believe you have to press the home button to activate SIRI.

I've ordered a 4S but unfortunately I don't have the Bluetooth Module installed in it else I could have confirmed for sure for you next week.

If you have the Bluetooth phone controls then holding the green phone button on the steering wheel for 2 seconds currently activates the voice control on the iPhone 4. Hopefully this will now activate the Siri features on the 4s. Handy for having your text messages read out to you and dictating replies etc.

looking at the tech specs on apple it says iPhone 4 uses blutooth 2.1 and the 4s 4.0 !?

So, having looked into this further, Bluetooth 4 is backward compatible with all other versions of Bluetooth.
So you'll be fine by the looks of it.

I have two phone, One samsung, One Sony Ericcson, samsung is rubbish keeps dropping connection, SE works flawlessly, both have the same BT spec?

Fingers crossed it works as there are some good features.

Apple are very clever. They draw people in for the improved 4S but they know that really it is just a gap filler for the iPhone 5 for which demand will be huge.

That said, I wont be changing my 4 for a 5 due to contract running until January 2013 by which time the iPhone 6 could be out or very close to release.

I think you will be very lucky getting one from a store on Saturday. I think all stock will be gone on Friday. Apple have just said they had 1 million pre orders on the first day. 400k more than the 4.

Or new separate 24 month contract and about £70 with a upgrade in 12 months, free tethering too for the iPad

Seems like a waste of time to me. If someone was paying for a 4S for me and I could get it Friday by queuing or wait a month, I would wait a month.

Why all the mad rush anyway for an iphone 4 with a few improvements? Be patient and wait for the iphone 5 which will doubtless blow the 4S out of the water. As is the way with these things. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
