The 2011MY TD4 (150) & SD4 (190) bottom end is the same as the older 160PS TD4.

The cylinder head has slight modifications to improve cooling, the turbocharger is uprated to cope with the higher power, also to improve the efficiency. By having a turbo that does not need to be worked as hard, means the whole unit is alot more efficient.

So where the SD4 is working well within it's limits, it means the TD4 at 150PS is working well below it's limits as it is mechanically identical to the SD4.

The SD4 turbocharger is a direct fit to the older TD4 engine, if fitted to the old TD4 engine it is worth having the standard map tweaked to accomodate the newer turbo. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Thanks MAV71. Thought the list price is quite a jump between equivalent TD4/SD4 models if its mainly a re-map.

Like a lot of TD4 owners, quite pleased overall but would love to get the low-rev response improved without wrecking the engine

Do you have the new TD4/SD4 engine or the older TD4? If you have the older TD4 then re-map it. It is excellent.

I've got the latest my2011 td4. XS manual plus sun-roof & leather etc. Just about getting used to an oil-burner after a life-time of gasoline red-lining. Previous chariot was original Honda CRV from new, 11 - years never saw a dealer. After 6 months careful (relatively) driving the FR2 and alraedy had that dpf sensor replaced although with red-carpet service! The Td4 has great poke when moving. Is it worth doing the rounds with the diesel-tuners for this model?

Re-Maps cannot yet be done on MY11's without completely replacing the ECU due to the protection on them, only the plug-in boxes that modify the ECU signals.
