Mist entering cabin via air con...

Strange one this. Outside temp was about 20 C, and I had A/C on the first fan setting down as cold as it can go. I noticed a white mist entering the cabin via the centre vent and thought that I had never seen that before...in any vehicle! 3 yr old GS.

Otherwise the system seems normal and the mist has now stopped.

Made a quick call to LR service and the chap said it may be because the moisture is not draining adequately? I did notice the usual wet patch on the drive after it was running for a bit a short while ago, so it is draining, but I accept it may be reduced.

Any thoughts or experiences on this please? Getting it into service will cost me half a day easy, so thought to ask here first. I have searched but not found anything like this.

Thank you.

I would hazard a guess it is/was excessively humid air passing over the condenser and can happen with any car, what's it like on a hot dry day with a low humidity?

I would say its just cold air hitting the warm/hot and humid air inside your freel

I had exactly the same problem last year - it turned out to be that the drain for the air-con was blocked up so the condensed water wasn't running out under the car - this was then being picked up and recirculated in the car - very scary when your windows suddenly mist up on the inside on a hot day!
