Anyone Driven "CRAIGGS BANK ROAD"

Our route back from Scotland to Derbyshire will take me to show daughter and her mum Hadrian's Wall at the location "Cawfields" to "Caw Gap" near the village of Greenhead on the A69.

My question is that having done this hike with the ladies we will then drive easterly on the A69 direction Hexham for approximately 2mls and then turn right onto a track (paved or unpaved?) that's cuts across the moors for 5mls to arrive at Lambley on the A689. This track as best as I can discover so far is referred to as "Craiggs Bank Road". Can anyone give me a better description of this road, its condition and is it worth taking for the scenery

Go to Google Maps and use street view to see for yourself what the road is like.

Odd that you find 9 random low resolution images a better resource than the opportunity to view the route at any point you choose.

Just driven down it on Google Earth. It is a bus route, tarmac all the way. Andy

Not odd at all - I also ran it through Google Earth as well - just wanted to make sure that it was a decent road - was not interested (not enough time) in doing any off roading as that day is a long drive from Loch Tay to Derbyshire for my two ladies.

I wonder how long it will be before that occasional mini bus remains in service with all these Osbourne cut n slash economics.
