Change of Front Grille

Hi Wildrover, have had a good look on your pictures in the Gallery. I have been most impressed by the stainless-steel (?) grille which you have replaced against the standard grille. Could you please advise
(1) where I can buy this new grille, and
(2) how do you change the grille - is it a lot of work?

Your advice would be highly appreciated.

Regards from Germany
Yamaha-Fan

Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Indus Silver

Hi Yamaha-fan,
i'm sorry to bring bad news but it isn't s/s, it's the same material (plastic) as yours, just the style that comes with the body kit. It was already fitted when in the showroom and i don't have a part number that you could provide your local dealer, but he shouldn't find it that difficult to locate. If the rear spoiler is available on its own, i would imagine each part of the body kit is also, but... Out with the old (2007 SE)
In with the new (2012 Dynamic with everything). Now also gone.

Is it possible to buy parts of the body kit separately at the dealers? According to my accessories brochure the whole kit is supplied for £1333. You may have a better chance of finding the grille on its own on ebay than at a dealers yamaha. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Enter the brave. I hate bling! I looked at my frt grille mldg with a view to removing it and painting it a proper colour- dark grey/black likewise the frt wing finishers. Surprised to find grille is welded to frt bumper. So it is a hacksaw blade to remove and then a milliput or like to re-fix. Stands good chance of muttoning up both grille and bumper. I suspect grille is not a service item. Might get round to masking it all out one day. Anthracite appeals. Might do the same to those infernal facia finishers which the gaffer likes and the gear stick gaiter lwr finisher. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

Couldn't help noticing the exhaust 'OVAL' end.

Does this also come with the body kit or did u buy it from somewhere, if so where.??

Looks rather neat and would like to fit one on mine.

They are part of the body kit, but the part can be order separately, ask your parts department for the number and they can give you the price

I think they are around £80, they clamp on and have a hole in the base for the exhaust gases to vent out the bottom.

eBay has them on occationally, but hake sure its the diesel model as the petrols are different Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
