I would be looking at EGR valve but also make sure the brake light switch is working and the brake lights are not stuck on !

Hi, ok brakes are new but is the brake light switch working correctly ? this is really important !!!!!

The EGR valve can only be tested with diagnostic equipment or removed for inspection.
Have you tried some injection cleaner through the system ?
Have you tried driving with the air con off to make sure its not the pump causing a hesitation ?

if its jerky on and off the throttle, EGR valve is possible or injection rail pressure is incorrect.

No its jerky only with low charge around 2000rpm when start push throttle.
No problem if the throttle is off.
No problem in high acceleration.

Think I noticed it too but it's very faint and not always. I think it only happens in 2nd gear too. Not sure.
Difficult to test as it does only happen all that often.

We have a similar problem with our 2008 GS with 40000 miles.

When accelerating in 4th gear and going through the 2000 to 2500 RPM band sometimes the rev counter will drop and you can sometimes feel a hesitation but then picks up again.

We have been to a dealer today and they say that it is the clutch slipping and even though it is a Land Rover approved used car the clutch is not covered so we have been quoted £730 if the clutch has gone if the problem is not a manufacturing defect.

If the clutch was slipping I thought it would happen high up the rev range and that the RPM would rise rather than fall.

Not sure what to do next.

Cheers

i noticed this hesitation on my Automatic,

more often or not coasting along in 4th and when then car gets to 2000rpm there is a small hesitation and then it picks up, its more noticeable when the car is below 2000 and then i turn off on to a road which has a incline, and the hesitations more severe and due to a incline i press the peddle a little more and it then changes down a gear which is a little jerky, like its changed but the power suddenly is released due to the engine not the gear

going to have it booked in to be looked at before the warranty expires Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Nick, for an automatic it is normal. Mine does it too.
It's the moment when one gear disengage and another one engages. Watch the RPM dial and you'll see a drop in RPM.
The "switch" between gears is programmed in that way, with a little gap between gears, in order for the gears to not overlap. It isn't a good thing to have 2 gears selected in the same time, isn't it?... Laughing
So the torque from the engine is interrupted a little from reaching the wheels.
And is obvious only on light throttle. In an more energic driving manner, you won't notice it.
But, for your peace of mind, you can book it. They will not find anything unusual and say it is normal.

its the times when its not changing gears though Confused

driving along 40mph in what i presume would be 4th and slowly increase speed up past 2000rpm and there is sometimes a slight pause or hesitation it feels like i have backed off the peddle, but i haven't

I think the turbo spools up at about 2000rpm, i was wondering if it could be that or egrs or something Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Look at the RPM when slowly increase the speed towards 2000 rpm mark and you'll see that the RPM drops just after that hesitation. The hesitation is at the changing gears moment.
Again, this is about autobox and its hesitation (by chance also at 2000 rpm) on changing gears.
On the manual, that hesitation could be because of other things.
As for the turbo, it's a false belief that the turbo kicks in only at and after 2000 rpm.
The turbo is spining and compress air all the times, even at idle. It just needs over 2000 RPM in order to generate its full maximum pressure.

I think this is my problem too.I don't believe this is an mistake but It's very nuisance, can we change this by tuning or reseting ecu by disconnect the battery?Perhaps we may use agresively our car,the ecu adopt our driving style and the noise will disappear? Off Road major rule:As slowly as possible, as fast as necessary!
