Speed dial facility with Bluetooth

Just collected my first Freelander (XS)
Have linked my phone via Bluetooth but I am trying to see is it possible to programme the dialling pad buttons as 'speed' dials -i.e so I can just ring without using my phone as searching through address book whilst driving doesn't look 'ideal'

Many thanks for any help 2011 XS,Sumatra Black, GONE MARCH 2014- RR Evoque Prestige 5 door ,MY 2014,Loire Blue, Silver Roof, Panoramic roof.

On mine, if I press the green 'answer phone' button on the steering wheel the radio/phone unit displays the last numbers dialled. I can then scroll through using the steering wheel 'up/down' radio function buttons. Then press the green phone button again if I find the number I wanted.

It's not a true speed dial, but as I don't have many friends Big Cry or people I want to ring, it serves me OK. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

GJH0702 why don't you turn on your phone's voice activation if it isn't already on, and enable voice activated dialling while on the move!
Once connected via bluetooth simply hold the green steering wheel button for approximately 5 seconds and you should hear your phone acknowledging the command, now simply speak the name of the person you want to dial "as entered into your phone's address book" and your phone should dial and route the call through your speakers.

P.S. above doesn't work on most HTC phones, as they have only activated voice activation in the U.S. Although there are work arounds, it is quicker to use the cars keypad on U.K HTC handsets as you have mentioned above. Thumbs Up
