It's connects to a lighter socket and sits on the windscreen high up to get a good view, he has it near the rear view mirror - when I first saw it I thought it was a road angel or something like that and he explained that he had initially had them on trial and went from there - Only issues is more wires / cables. |

I'm not sure it will give a discount against Insurance however it will provide evidence (hopefully in your favour) if you had an accident which would mean that you had a solid claim to recover your excess (assuming the other person is insured) - My friend has a high excess of £5k on his lorries so the cost of the unit is a small, in comparrison. |

There is a 'black box' of sorts, in the manual it states " Event data recorders are capable of collecting and storing data during a crash or near-crash event. The module will record information on how many occupants and the vehicle itself.
