Mine had the same problem when I bought it in February. The little locking lever seemed to be stiff, so i sprayed some WD40 or duck oil into the pivots. This definitely improved it for a good while, then it started to miss locking again. Some more spraying did nothing for it this time, and shortly after, a loud twang came from the door, and you could not even lock it manually. The problem was cured at Hunters under extended warranty. The reception chap said the door catch assembly had been replaced. Not clear if that was the inner end where the cable fits or the outer door bit? |

Hi, yes I have this problem on the passenger side rear door. The receipts supplied with the car when I bought it, shows that LR replaced the drivers side rear door lock at some point. So I assume its a common problem. There are many threads on it on here, like:

Its my tailgate that stays locked when the central locking/unlocking is used, but it opens when the tailgate only button is pressed. Any ideas.

Just replaced tailgate switch LLR020997 £21.02 from dealer problem solved. The old switch was full of greyish powder is it a desicant or general muck picked up along the way? Could do with a new gasket under the housing for the switch and number plate lights. I tried to remove these lights to make the job of threading the wires but gave up thinking that they looked too easily broken.
