Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Fuji White

Can assure you that pre 2011 model headlamps are far better than 2011 MY projector lamps.
Fitted 2x H7 + 90 to main beam and 2x H11 +90 to dip to improve, a good help but still NOT THE BEST!!!!
Also find that when car unladen and only front seats occupied having lights set to full hight (as they should be) is too high, a better pattern if lowered by about 25% a much better concentration of light on road.

I STRONGLY agree the lights on 2011 MY with standard bulbs are close to being "not fit for purpose" and
dammed dangerous on a dirty wet night especially on country roads.
Ford Sierras had far superior lights 15 years ago. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

Australia 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey

Thanks druand. Very intersting. I think it's a safety issue and I feel very uncomfortable doing 100Klm on a dark night. I am heading offroad today with a night time return journey, so I will probably follow the Toyotas. Without the availability of any decent bull bars, night driving becomes even more concerning.

There are some HID light units on Fleabay with a couple of hours to go if anyone is interested. says they are LHD but as far as I am aware they are not handed as they have a lever to correct the beam.

No...I am not selling them either Laughing

Should be H7 types for both full and dip (MY11 models are H11 for dipped). I have upgraded to the 'Osram Nightbreaker Plus' for my dipped beam only, and there is a noticeable difference, not worth the bother for full beam as there's too much traffic around that I rarely get chance to use it.
