Low Fuel Warning Lamp

Just completed my first tank full in the new SD4. At about 430 miles the low fuel lamp came on, which I was quite pleased with after a petrol Forester. OBC is showing a little over 35 mpg. Does anyone know how much fuel is left in the tank when the amber light comes on. The OBC says the range is 35 miles. I can't believe the light comes on with only 1 gallon left.

I said I would post some pics. I've covered 500 miles in the first week of ownership and washed and polished it a couple of days ago, but used it before I could take any photos and it is filthy again! I have a trip away next week and will post pics after a wash when I return.

I thought my low fuel light came on early compared to the 07 model I had, the gauge reads about a 1/4 remaining and the light comes on. It seems pretty accurate, at 30 miles left I have filled it up and put 63 ish litres in which I reckon is about right.

Depends on driving style, I think, mine comes on about 50 miles, first tank OBC went to 0, 2 miles before the fuel station, pheww, it got there.
I am averaging 35 too, goes up on a longer run, had it up to 42 on a run down to Bristol, but hey, you didn buy it to watch the fuel gauge.

In my first three weeks I have done 2500 miles, managed photos and single handedly turned the chrome arse piece into a neat Freel2 sticker holder!
