Road Noise?

Just picked my new GS Auto it is so quiet compared to my old Sorento that I think I have gone Deaf!
Experiencing some road noise at 20 +mph, Is this tyre noise or transmission noise?
Anyone else heard this?

Road noise

PJW - difficult to answer. I think that most noise comes from the type of road surface and of course, the type of tyres on your car. However, I can say that when I renewed the tyres on my old FL1 from Goodyear to Michelin, there was a distinct improvement...much less noise, and better handling I might add. I will be doing the same on my FL2 in another 40k miles.

Thanks chrisaviss I have only done 350 miles so some time to go before i change tyres, there seems to be a lot less tread on the goodyear wrangler Hp than the tyres on the Sorento lets hope I get 20K+ out of them.

As to the Road - transmission noise this disappears below 15 mph perhaps it will reduce when i have done a few more miles!

Check your tyre pressures as well, my were 38psi on all 4 corners ! must be pummped up for the low loader delivery to the dealers. GS TD4 All Black

Thanks Dave Tyre pressures were a little high at 35psi made no difference to road noise when reduced to 32
