2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e S Manual Stornoway Grey
side moulding for doors

At last having previously two freelander one have managed to save up and by a freelander 2.Wanted to by a gs but instead bought a s model which I managed to pick up on a 59 reg 23k with stop/start and land quick release towbar in stornaway grey for 13500 which seemed like a good price to me.I will put some pictures of the car as it stands now before I start putting extra's on it.
Could anyone advise as to where is the cheapest place to buy side moulding for the car to stop car park dents as I put them on my freelander one td4 and the where worth there weight in gold.Thanks.

Martin

I'm sure someone will pop along and tell me I'm wrong, but if you are talking about the moldings half way up the doors, what good are they?
The Freely is taller than cars so a car door will hit the lower moldings first and not even reach the upper ones, surely it will be these that get 'dinged'. Confused

Had them on both my Freelanders and 'touch wood' have suffered no car park dents so in my opinion based on 4 years use they are well worth having.

I wasn't aware any FL2 models had 16" wheels. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Yeah, the 'S' model has 16" as standard and really looks small but the design is better than the standard 17" on my 'GS' in my opinion.

On comment about door height, someone has dinked mine about 1 inch to the side of the door handle. God knows how managed to get it there especially as the handle sticks out so much!

I had theLR door mouldings from new and I'm well pleased. Other post is right that you may have a door shape that misses the protection but it stops most. Go for it! Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red
Gone... 2008 (09MY) XS Td4 Manual Stornaway Grey

My previous LR2 was a supermarket car park ding magnet. I had the rubber strips fitted to my current car on acquisition in Jan 2011 and so far (touch pine) no dings....... Well worth the cost, fit them yourself but check some photos to see where.... They glue on. JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

Worth fitting the door mouldings, have saved my doors a few dinks they would otherwise have got. Welcome to the 'S' owners club, we are an elite band!

Can anyone give me an idea of price / part numbers for these mouldings (or the best place to buy them) I quite like the idea of the extra protection. It's not always small cars that park next to you there's a lot of other 4x4's and high up people carriers / MPV's where I live. Sounds like a good idea... 57 HSE AUTO with H.I.D's - Grey with Black leather. (H.S.E. Heightadjustable Seats Extra Sad )

They're about £140 from LR dealer, try site sponsor Duckworth parts as free postage for forum members and often have offers. Otherwise I think some people have got them from ebay.

Put moulding on this weekend, quite an easy job to do. I also think that they improve the look of the car by breaking up the door with the black.Next job are roof rails.Looks like I might be going to jv like in hay on wye to have them put on as it seems like quite a big job, whereas on my freelander one it was an easy job.
Will try to put some pics on as soon as I can clean car in nice weather.
