... car now at 28,000 miles and the whining rear started recently. I know this has been mentioned on here a few times.

That's (tyre noise) is exactly what our dealer said. My thoughts are a) wheel bearing, or, b) a rear diff problem. Her Laydship's FL2 has never towed. October is the month that we put winter tyres on here in Switzerland and I will see if that makes a difference - if not it will be further evidence of my long held thought that Swiss LR dealers really know very little about the FL2 and its endemic faults. |

never towed, minimal rough surfaces, mostly motorway miles. I'll see what they say when it goes in to them in a couple of weeks from now. A MY10 TD4.e HSE Bali Blue |

I had a whine from the rear of my FL2 which increased with speed.

simple diff problem ,if noise is on accelaration going in a straight line and when you back off the gas on what is called overun if noise apparrant its the diff,

The first reported rear diff failures I have read about (& clutches for that matter) were on one of the caravanning forums I read.

Fair points. Car has never towed. Of 90 miles per day, 80 are easy motorway.
