I dont think snow will make a difference.

The difference is the new EVOQUE. That the reason no one will be buying a used freelander.

Apparently impact on residuals is very high because of the new baby range rover.

It has a lower tax bracket and nice looks, so people opting to buy the landy for the school run or the motorway commute will now be looking elsewhere.

I am in the market for an XS or higher with low miles.

Evoque will have little or no effect on Freelander residuals. It is aimed at a totally different Market. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Personally I think the Evoque will impact on Range Rover Sport Sales. I can honestly say I have never seen a FL2 on the school run! Thumbs Up

90% of Evoque sales are from customers new to the Land Rover brand. The effect on Freelander and RR Sport sales is currnetly insignificant.

Looking at it another way, I wonder how many customers new to the brand will be attracted in by all the hype and publicity surrounding the Evoque and then see a Freelander, realise it's it's the better car and then buy one of those instead! Wink

With all of the showroom traffic that the Evoque will generate, this might actually happen!

The way I see it is that if Halewood are busy building Evoques instead of FL2 there will be fewer new FL2 in the dealer supply chain so the value of secondhand vehicles might actually increase.

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black

I got a text from my local dealer asking for good quality low milage & fully serviced land rovers! Sounds to me they want to get land rovers in early so they can sell them on for a nice profit when this so called bad winter hits!

trying to sell mine recently. 56 2007 SE low mileage.
glass's/what car valuation
private- £15.2k
p.ex 14k

Spoke to several dealers.. none of which were LR--- most I was offered was £13k.

Sold it privately in the end for £14.2k. Had it up on autotrader for two weeks.

Total of 2 emails promising me the full asking price without seeing the car, and wanting a shipping agent to pick it up..and to pay by paypal of course...

And one other email from a guy that made an offer as soon as he turned up to buy it.

Not an easy time to say FL2's as some have said. Should be lots better after October.

Charlie.

I found a 2008 SE with 56K miles for 13K from a dealer.

All original paintwork (checked with the paint meter) and Full SH.

Mint condition.

The asking price was much higher.

Not many being shifted at the moment.

Many bargains to be had.

One needs to look and be a bit patient.
