2011 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Lago Grey
What is service interval on MY 11?

A message came up when the car was just about at 15k miles and said it needed a service even though the service book suggests 16k.
The dealer said all Freelander 2 were due service at 15k. So it was serviced.
At 16k the information bit then starts telling me it needs an OIl service. Dealer is confused! Any thoughts? Thanks

Service book on my 08 and 10 reg FL2's said 12months or 15,000 miles which ever comes first. My 2011 reg SD service book says "see service indicator"
I did phone LR customer service and was told nothing has changed still 12 month or 15000.

I will soon find out as miles are creeping up quickly. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

My 59 plate has a service book that says as per service indicator but warns of use in extreme situations.

I can see no mention of mileage or time anywhere 1 Confused

Isn't that a good enough reason to have forgotten about it Laughing

hi service interval is 15k/12months BUT if you are running an 11 my with DPF you may if you do short/urban journeys you may get an additional request for an OIL SERVICE come up on your dash typically we are these around 5/6 k DO NOT ignore this get your oil and filter changed and the indicator reset This request for the Additional Oil Service is triggered by the the engine control module when it calculates that there is more than 7% diesel in your engine oil which is caused when the DPF regeneration is happening too frequently ie less than the ideal 528 miles apart, because of too many short low speed journeys failure to have the oil changed will affect vehicle warranty in the event of engine damage all dealerships should explain DPF operation on handover

Interesting and quite reasonable, but not mentioned when I bought the car, on the handover, and not in the DPF supplement or manual.
