Re: How to Spend circa £14K?

[quote="Calcul@tor"]Hi Guys

She currently drives a Galaxy (don't start) - which she quite likes, and wouldn't mind another - but, would also like 4WD So what should we get?

Some thoughts:

Must haves:

4WD
5 doors!
At least 5 seats and room for a biggish dog.
Reasonable stereo.
Rear PDC
Front passenger air-bag disabling.

If she likes a Ford get a Kuga?

Hi I just bought a 58 2008 GS with 30K on the clock,

Sounds like a nice car and good buy. You might want to remove your mobile number from the open forum though.

Manual. We would have had either, pros and cons to both!

Yep, hope so!

On budget, about the age / mileage we were looking for and higher spec.

Still not sure where the correct balance of spec vs. age/mileage is - but the S does seem to loose value quickly and my concern is that as cars get older, the difference in price between the specs diminishes and so buyers generally look for the higher spec vehicle. Not sure I'm right though!

This one looked like a good buy. Hopefully it will just about hold its value over the next few months as winter sets in. This gives my wife a chance to drive it for a while to see whether she likes it. Her only real concerns are the boot size and lack of flexibility without 7 seats. If she wants more space, we can sell for around what we paid and look at other options.

However, I suspect she'll love it and decide to live with the space/seat issues - especially as she can always have mine if she knows she's going to need 6 or 7 seats in advance.
