My Lotus has "Snister" as a plate.

In Western Australia, we can have whatever plate we like as long as it's not offensive and is no more than 9 characters (including spaces) long.
A funny one I saw the other day was "2OLDFARTS" on a Hyundai.

Saw "RR SPORT" when I got my car serviced at thd main dealer last week.

In the UK I had "A11 EEX".

I have my own personal plate and at the time had 3 dogs, I also own a boarding kennels and cattery.

I just passed a Japanese 4WD pick up (the sort of thing that you see with a machine gun mounted on the back in news reels from war torn parts of the middle east) with the reg: BI WMD!

My near neighbours live in a huge old hall, drive a range rover have a house in Florida, kids in posh school etc etc, their income? dealing it private plates.

3 years now and it's still on retention. Putting a mainland plate on a Norn Iron motor is to much hassle. Faugh A Ballagh

Can't use the private plate on our Freelander for another 7 months it a 5 digit plate which spells our surname with the number 4 as the A , but as it was on the stolen Defender which has not yet been recovered it can not be used for a year from the date the car was reported stolen...... 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

My Aunt, many years ago, had her car stolen which had a private plate on it.

She got a new car and had the plate transfered onto it.

Was then stopped almost everyday by the police for having a number plate for a stolen car.

Funny thing was she proved it was genuine by showing the first police man her diary which had an entry "car stolen!"


Ended up going to the police station with the car and ensuring they updated their computers to show that she was driving a new car with that plate.

Believe me - she wished she had waited longer before putting the private plate on 2002 Honda VFR800
