I'm looking for a FL2 and prepared to pay up to about £14,000 depending on all the usual criteria or a bit more for a really good one!

Mileage no more than about 30-35,000.
Ideally 2008 or later.
Ideally GS or better.
Auto or manual.

So, obviously, I'm not being fussy!

I think you need a few more wage slips, although keep a close eye on used stock as it will soar in the next few weeks with trade ins, leave it too late and prices will rise, especially if an early frost comes triggering winter alert!!

Auto Trader would seem to suggest otherwise - especially when you factor in that the listed prices are often negotiable to an extent.

Pretty close to my spec and under budget.

You may have been offered £15,500 for your 07 XS - but it is very low mileage. Also, I presume you're buying a new one - how much discount are you getting?

You wont get what yo want for that money good luck though you may draw your old age pension first lol

Strange reactions!

There are currently at least 2x FL2 GS, both with 37,000 miles on Auto Trader. One is a 2008/57, the other 2008/08. Both trade sellers. Both asking less than £14,000.

So, why am I not going to find what I'm looking for. Both of these easily fall within my criteria:

Mileage no more than about 30-35,000. I'd call 37K 'about 30-35K'
Ideally 2008 or later. Yes
Ideally GS or better. Yes
Auto or manual. Yes
Up to about £14,000. Yes (actually less, before even talking about discounts).

Unfortunately, they're both over 3 hours drive from me, so no, I'm not buying either. But, with the new registration next week, I'm not in any hurry. I suspect there will be more along soon!

I realise both of the posters who say I won't find what I'm looking for have 2007/2008 vehicles. I'm sorry if this upsets your ideas about what your own vehicles are worth - but I've done some research, and whilst there aren't hundreds to chose from, they are around. Unfortunately, it would appear you're both out of touch with current resale values.

Thanks for the thoughts / advice everyone.

Charlie was kind enough to PM me the details of his car prior to posting it on here. It's a great spec and if it was going to be our main vehicle, I'd be very interested - but as a second car to mainly do school runs and shopping, we're going to look for something lower spec, but slightly newer.
