Well today the rain stopped long enough for me to do the rear brakes.

I replaced drums, shoes and pads.

The hand brake is amazing now ... found that the 'expander' thing in the brake drum (that is operated by the brake cable) were both seized solid - wd40 and screwdriver and hammer + 10 minutes and free as a bird .... and well greased.

Next installment will be the front wheel discs and pads - must be an easier job......  2002 Honda VFR800

Be very careful when greasing moving parts etc inside brake drums/discs. Always use high temp lubricants, copperslip is a very good one and remember to use sparingly.
Brakes get hot, grease melts and will dripp on the inner parts of the drum, then BIG SUPPRISE, NO BRAKES. And yes. front brakes are easer to do but keep an eye on your brake fluid as if your brakes were warn down low then fitting new ones in will raise the brake fluid in the master cylinder resivoir. Cleans spills right away as it will lift your paint work good luck. you can look at my picks in my galarey if needed when I changed mine

Do you meen you have baught a wind back tool for the brake calipers ?? If so you can do the same job with a cheap G clamp. Depends on how much you want to spend on tools

From my very recent experience - change them

It is the main part for making the brake work - if I could have got one on Saturday afternoon I would have OR if I had read a thread like this I would have bought them in advance
