Totally agree. Macs are excellent if you are doing something arty or creative in a professional sense but they are more of a fashion accessory if you are just a normal user!! "I'm on the road to nowhere" Last edited by milom on 23rd Jul 2012 2:04 pm. Edited 2 times in total |

i'm heading to a Mac purely for the compatability for iphone, timemachine, appleTV, and the main thing is the lack of viruses that PC users suffer

Dont be lulled into thinking macs are less vulnerable than PC's, because they aren't - its just that whilst PC's are the majority they are an easy target, however the new generation of hackers are now a bit smarter and are starting to target specific things making you who thinks mac are safe a perfect target! This is especially true for business users and people who may have company sensitive of personal information on them! As for the patching update - Yes MS do have lots of patches, but again this is tantamount to the number of people using them and so finding the vulnerabilities! There was a month not to long ago when Apple beat MS with its number of security updates Doesnt stop me wanting one tho! Macbook Pro unless you need the weight difference in the air. SSD is nice but too small to be practical.

Oh well £650 might not be the best if it can't be upgraded, thought if it could have it wasn't a bad price

As I sit here typing, I am on my new MacBook Pro. Early days in terms of use but it looks straightforward enough and it is damn quick! Plus I am getting much faster speeds on wireless using firefox probably because this has wireless 'n' card as opposed to my old laptop which was 'g' I think.
